360 MKII Heavyweight Advanced LE Chest Protector

Following on from the MKI (discontinued), we now provide the MKII Heavyweight chest protector to users who require a more heavy duty version. The MKII heavyweight version offers 360 degree increased protection not only to the front and side but also to the shoulders and back against all manner of blows (including weapon attacks) from all directions to the upper torso.

These chest protectors were always seen as a next step up from the current traditional sparring/competition style vests available. However what has now become apparent from our development work with the Police forces in both the UK and abroad is that practitioners of realistic self-defence are looking for a training vest that will go beyond these requirements and as such, following your feedback we have designed the MKII Heavyweight Chest Protector to offer the user a more advanced, harder wearing, increased functionality vest.

The MKII vest incorporates the following enhancements and improvements and has now been trialled and adopted by various bodies including the UK Police.

Material: Manufactured in a 2 Ply, high strength, high weave nylon fabric with heavy duty parachute material (Cordura) fused together using rubber latex and high heat. Easily cleanable. This strong fabric exponentially increases the life expectancy of the torso protector while also allowing for a greater level of training to be experienced including medium intensity grappling/wrestling/pushing/pulling. (For full/high level grappling/wrestling techniques or riot control training scenarios we recommend the vest is worn underneath the users training overalls.

Protection: The frontal padded area is increased by adding a middle section panel which offers greater protection to the lower abdomen/groin area and allows the protector to overlap secondary groin guards when worn.

The large central front and rear pads are now interchangeable and renewable via Velcro hook and loop closing pockets located on the inside of the vest. This unique design allows the user to replace/renew the large central high density, high impact protective pads and as such increase the life expectancy of the pads more in line with the new stronger fabric of the vest.

Removable upper arm/shoulder guard pads offering protection to the shoulders and upper arm area are now included as standard and allow increased functionally and protection for the wearer when used for stick fighting/baton training etc. For full arm, wrist and hand protection the vest can also be worn with standard groin, arm, leg, head and hand pads to offer a full body protection solution.

If you've ever trained baton skills or stick fighting 1 on 1 or used hard knifes then the chances are you'll appreciate the importance of a good baton training glove. The Recon Anti-Baton/Riot Training Glove is manufactured with a ventilated synthetic leather palm which allows better weapon retention. The rear of the glove  encompasses a unique pattern of high density impact EVA foam protection that covers all areas of the hand with particular attendtion being paid to the protection of the thumb. Combined, the glove offers protection against all kinds of blunt force trauma while still allowing for maximum mobility. Finally the glove extends well below the wrist by means of a padded Velcro wrist band which allows forearm protection to be worn either under or over.
